Muslim Unity
Lessons from Nature and the Holy Quran

As-Salaam Alaikum,

It’s often strange to realize that what we have which should serve to bring about our unity is the very thing that divides us.

That which we and others use to divide us is Islam!

What is Islam?

Islam is the entire submission to the Will of Allah!

But can we be in submission to the Will of Allah and yet not do His Will?

And isn’t part of the Will of Allah (swt) for those who worship Him in unity on Fridays to do be likewise from Saturday thru Thursday as well?

Again, we see in nature that insects, birds of various kinds and animals band together to build promote and protect their interest.

Look at how the Bee works in unity for the good of the colony (group). As a result they produce something which benefits them and those who partake there of.

I’ve often seen small birds dissuade an eagle or other predator by coming at the potential enemy from various directions causing disruption and confusion, thus saving the lives of their young or their mate.

Anyone who has seen those animal programs on TV has probably seen how hyenas work as a unified body to rear, protect and bring down a much larger pray! There strength is in their Unity!

What is all of the above teaching us? Should we just view these things as random evolutionary events that occur among Allah’s lesser creation while leaving His greatest creation clueless?

A friend once wrote that “Success leaves Clues”

If we examine the success cases of unity in nature and look at those successful cases among people then we can see the clear trail of clues left behind.

Success does not depend on vast numbers, but it does depend on a singularity of purpose!

If you observe those groups are successful you will notice the lack of infighting; meaning fighting among themselves.

Does that mean that there are no disagreements? Hardly, but you seldom hear about or see major conflicts which jeopardizes their unifying interest played out in before the public.

Members of these unified groups can be separated geographically, linguistically, culturally etcetera, yet at the core they know that they belong to a unified group.

Because this understanding is internalized, business opportunities are created for those within the group in the areas of supply and trade as well as providing goods and services to anyone else.

How do the successful groups maintain their economic power; By controlling the circulation of their wealth.

Currency usually circulates a minimum of seven (7) times within the communities of the successfully unified groups before it enters it leaves.

Our currency does not circulate 7 nor 6 nor 5, 4, 3, 2 or 1 time among ourselves. We are fortunate if our money makes it to another Muslim business before it leaves the community never to be seen again!

When Allah (swt) taught Adam all the names (Surah Al Baqarah 2:31) was that the extent of his education? Would not Adam have been taught the function and intricate details of that which he was taught?

Adam would have learned how unity plays an important role in creation and more importantly in Allah’s (swt) greatest creation…Man!

Muslims seem to have failed to learn or understand this basic lesson. Unity is paramount for our survival! We have to put to the side the childish differences that we and others exploit to cause disunity among us.

If linguistic, culture, geographical etcetera, has not proven to be a hindrance with respect to the unity of successful groups, then why should these things be a roadblock to Muslim unification.

We must be in unity in such fundamental areas as trade and Muslim consumerism to create a foundation from which we can build.

Not doing so we will keep us in the pathetic situation that we find ourselves today.

We allow others to refine our oil as well as provide us with manufactured goods and services.

Today, the situation has even reached to the point that more than 90% of the exhibitors at Halal product Trade Exhibitions are not Muslims.

The few Muslims who are seen promoting Halal Products and Services serve only to provide legitimacy for those non Muslims who are the real owners!

Think over it; Non Muslims Producing and Providing “Halal” to Muslims!

Even among those who provide Kosher meals and services there must be a Rabbi on board to assure the tenants of those who eat Kosher are adhered to.

If they (Jews) are so strict and careful then why shouldn’t we. Is not Halal as or more important to us as it is for them?

Why should we let others do for us what we should be doing for self!

We must gain back our dignity through unification as “Muslims” and laying out our own future.

Wake up Muslim Brothers and Sisters before we wake up with Nothing!

As-Salaam Alaikum
