"The Independent Business Person"

There are many reasons to go independent in business.

1. Freedom

2. More Discretionary Time

3. New Challenge

4. You were Fired!

Freedom is likened to the cage bird that has its door opened in the wilderness. Beautiful and vast; having great potential with equal great risks.

The world seems to offer so many possibilities for people when they first go out on their own.

However, if no plan of action is in place true independence may come more quickly than anticipated.

This independence will come in the form of being Independent from an Income!

It is highly advisable to seek professional development assistance pre-and post going it alone.

This development may come in the form of reading materials, attending workshops, having a mentor or coach assisting you with the transition.

Discretionary Time: Going out on your own allows you to have more time for family, hobbies, the pursuit of additional skills or philanthropy.

As long as discipline is exercised, there is no reason why the lone wolf can not organize the day to gain maximum effect and still have quality time for other engagements.

One of the advantages of discretionary time is that you can do or not do what you want when you want.

Entrepreneurial Bug: There are some people who enjoy the challenges that come with doing for self.

Consultants, small business people and insurance agents to name a few have probably all come from having worked for other organizations.

However, the desire to go it alone gave rise to their taking the course of independence.

Many of these people already come out a skill set, but may need refinement to attain greater heights in their professional pursuits.

You were Fired!: There is no greater motivator than being fired to cause a person to contemplate going out on their own.

After all, having experience this type of rejection once most do not relish the idea of it happening again!

This experience forces you to examine the various options available and pursue that option that offers freedom and the greatest opportunity to live in the life style that you deserve.

This will ultimately provide you with the power of more discretionary time.

Yet, like the line in Spiderman…With great power comes great responsibility!

One way to spend discretionary time is to give back in the way of service some of what Allah has given to you!
