While we normally see leaders at their best when all is well in their worlds. We see them at their worse when the foundation shakes all so slightly! It is how the leader responds to life’s body blows which shows internal fortitude while giving hope to those who are looking at the leader for signs that all is well.
Does this call for the infallibility of the leader? No; that is reserved for the ultimate of leaders. Occasional slips, falls and mistakes will are all part of the road to public and personal leadership success. However, the mark of true leadership is in not only getting up, but in teaching others from what you’ve learned during the process.

Undoubtedly, Islamic leadership will not please all the seek to serve. This is a reality in life. People will find fault in such mundane matters as one’s attire, mannerism, speech the way hair is combed combed or the lack thereof! People look for perfection in leadership. However, instead of the leader trying to achieve such lofty goals as seeking approval as: “The Perfect Leader” They should instead seek approval from Allah Who Holds the soul of man.
