"The Pursuit of Personal Excellence"

It is sometimes easier to seek out or even expect excellence in others rather than demand it of ourselves!

People mistakenly view having obtained degrees in higher learning as the prize in the pursuit of personal development.

So upon graduation day with degree in one hand and a pat on the back it is felt that our responsibility to obtain knowledge ceases.

However, I am reminded in the Holy Quran where The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is exhorted to read/recite or in other words constantly seek knowledge.

This lets us know that self development is an ongoing process.

Targeted development or that which expands a range of disciplines all works to keep the brain mentally fresh.

*It is also said that we produce new connections between neurons when we are in the learning cycle

Resources that can further ones knowledge:

• Newspapers

• Magazines that cover specific disciplines in which you want to grow

• The internet (If targeted information is researched)

• Having a Mentor or a Coach

Whichever route one takes, the pursuit of personal excellence should be a continuous venture.

If not, we waste one of the most precious gifts that Allah has bestowed on us.

A mind with the capability to seek after knowledge

And a Mind is a Terrible Thing To Waste!
