Develop Your Angle Towards Building Better Sales!

Today, while enjoying a refreshing beverage, I watched a man kick an expandable plastic wire shaped ring to and fro in front of passersby.

His angle it seemed was to create interest among those that walked along the street.

If pedestrians showed no interest he would attempt a couple of more passes before setting his sight on new fish.

However, if their eyes fixed on the ball or if parents were with children he would kick it toward them in an attempt to engage them in the activity.

The more enthusiastically the potential customers played, the greater the likelihood of a sale.

This was witnessed firsthand when a gentleman I guessed from Pakistan was either reliving the thrills of games of his youth or wanted to test the durability of this toy for his own child as he tried to bend it like Beckham!

Which ever the case, the sale was made before the toy came to a stand still!

The question which came to mind as I watched was:

How determined are you as an entrepreneur to engage potential clients?

Do you build rapport before you try to make the sale?

Are you willing to go the extra mile without (listen closely MLM and Insurance personnel) becoming a nuisance?

This gentleman engaged, but did not harass.

And although he only made one sale during the 30minutes I watched; there are probably a few people who felt good enough about the interaction that may pick up one of these expanding balls as a gift one day.

He (the salesman) it appears seems to have worked out what it takes to build rapport!

What’s your angle, your brand?

What are you kicking around to create a memorable impression?
