The MuMin Annual Dinner
and
Singing Competition!

Over the last few years Mu’Min has sponsored a singing competition that show cases Malaysia’s talented Islamic singers.

More than eighty four (84) young people from all over West Malaysia are taking part in this three day (June 10 ~ 12) event.

This year’s participants and instructors are staying at:

Tempat Perkempungan Tamen Pertanian, Bukit Cahaya Seri Alam, Shah Alam

While at this serene campsite and before the actual competition, the students are instructed by their teacher mentors on voice, presentation and other areas that will help further polish their talent.

Mu’Min says that it sponsors this friendly competition as a way to offer a wholesome outlet for those who have vocal talent and yet do not heed the call to express their talents in a secular way.

This is not to say that the music was without flavor during the evening’s dinner. In fact, a local band played a couple of the songs which had scintillating Latin Rhythms while some of Malaysia’s professional singers mixed in “Rap”, English and Bahasa Malaysia!

There is little doubt that many of the aspiring artists in the audience envisioned themselves performing in such a manner in the future. Insha’Allah.

We can only pray that Mu’Min continues to not only brighten smiles with their toothpaste, but also brighten the hearts and minds by continuing their annual sponsorship of this wonderful event.

A final note: The Bintang (Championship) Nasyid will be held on Friday June 12, 2009.
